How much clothing can I actually pack in the V2?

The reconfigured clothing compartment is about 1" larger in height, width, and depth, and now includes its own expansion zipper. Most travelers can comfortably pack four days of clothing alongside a full camera kit.

How much lighter is the V2 compared to the V1?

V2 weighs approximately 5.5 lbs — about a quarter pound lighter than V1. We dropped weight by upgrading to a higher-tenacity ripstop main fabric and removing the metal stays, while keeping the same strength, water resistance, and structural integrity.

What size laptop fits in the McKinnon Camera Pack 35L V2?

The external side sleeve fits most laptops up to 16", and the internal sleeve fits most laptops up to 14". Max external sleeve dimensions are 15.5" x 11"; max internal sleeve dimensions are 13" x 11.5".

Is the McKinnon Camera Pack 35L V2 carry-on compliant?

Yes. At 22" H x 13.5" W x 9.5" D, the V2 meets the carry-on size limits of most major airlines. When fully expanded to 42L, we recommend checking your airline's specific size limits, especially for international or budget carriers.

Yes. The V2 includes a hidden tripod pocket designed to secure most standard travel tripods to the exterior of the pack, keeping the silhouette clean when not in use.

The main fabric is a higher-tenacity ripstop with a water-resistant coating, paired with durable urethane-coated zippers throughout. The V2 is built to handle rain, spills, and splashes — though we don't recommend fully submerging it. A rain fly is not included.

The V2 is the perfect camera bag.
This is the ultimate videographer travel bag! I’ve been looking for a bag like this for years. Everything is extremely well thought out and intentional. Down to the little details like the magnet close on the tripod pocket and the additional grab handles. The main gear area is very deep and the expandable clothing area holds more than you’d think. This will be me on every travel shoot moving forward.
Only downside is I wish they gave an extra rigid divider for videographers that don’t need the articulating divider.

By far my favorite camera travel bag
Nomatic make the best camera bags. Not only are they stylish, but they are highly functional. They carry all my equipment, card readers, chargers plus my laptop. They are well made and durable. I use my bag each and every day. It goes everywhere I do. Customer service is also 100%. Don't hesitate to but this bag to protect and transport your expensive camera gear.

Great Camera Bag for All of you Gear
Grabbed this bag originally in 2020 prior to a trip to the Maldives. I�ve traveled the globe with this backpack and it fits all of the gear you need. I�ve packed my drone, Canon R5 Body and four RF lenses. It�s held up to the duties of long trips and perfect to take on local gigs for shooting around town too. They�ve also stood by their warranty and replaced the bag twice due to zipper issues.

Premium Quality, Outstanding After-Sales Suppor
I love its sleek design, excellent organization, and outstanding gear protection. Its customizable compartments make it easy to carry multiple cameras, lenses, accessories, and even a laptop. The durable, weather-resistant construction is also ideal for unpredictable weather conditions.
While I love the bag, it is a bit too heavy. I wish it were lighter, especially since it is often loaded with a lot of equipment.
I gifted this to my husband in 2025, and about a year later, the zipper and its track broke. However, we were grateful that the warranty claim process was quick and hassle-free, and we received a replacement within a few weeks.
Overall, both the bag and the customer service are superb. I highly recommend it to photographers and content creators looking for a well-designed and reliable camera backpack.
